Giving Back On The Weekend

I wanted to switch up the blogs a bit and give you an inside look at New Age Software Services and the lovely folks that make up team. We have an “About Us” page on our website for you to meet the staff at New Age and we all do different things on the weekend so I thought it might be fun to highlight a few recent events from April. This post will feature Kristen, Senior Technical Recruiter, and myself, Social Media Administrator, who both participated in a 5k for charity.

Kristen and her family joined in on the second annual Run of the Savages on April 12th in Plaistow, NH. The Run of the Savages is a community 5k run/walk that encourages participants to have fun and help fight the battle against cancer. Proceeds of Run of the Savages go to the Jimmy Fund and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the creators of the race wanted to put a positive twist on cancer by holding an event to focus on something greater, a community event. This was the second time Kristen and her family including their four legged friend Buster participated in the Run of the Savages.

Over the weekend, I joined in on the Color Me RAD 5k in downtown Manchester, NH. Proceeds for the race went to New Horizons for NH, Inc., a soup kitchen, food pantry and homeless shelter. Thankfully, the rain held off until after the race and I finished my first 5k covered in blue, yellow, purple and red colored powder and a feeling of accomplishment. If you haven’t tried a color race before I would highly recommend one but just make sure you dust off before getting back in your car, the color will go everywhere if you don’t.

Check back in soon to see what other members of the New Age team are up to in their free time.
